In 2023 and 2024, I was part of the operational team and marketing lead for the US Pro Cup MTB event, the only UCI HC event in the US, drawing the top athletes from around the globe.  Like any event, event operations is an all-hands-on-deck situation, and you might find yourself staking out courses, throwing fencing, hanging scrim, setting up stages, trusses, etc. It's the physical part of the job. But once the competition starts, the work shifts to feeding the hungry crowd of social followers for this non-streamed event. I manage media interviews and social channels with constant updates, reels, and short video clips of interviews, race finishes, and podiums. The US Pro Cup has an active and engaged fan base wanting to know what happens over each event's 4-day weekend, resulting in approximately 1 million impressions in four days. Post-event, I publish the race report articles, including any needed photography.

Days are long, and the weather can often be bad during these events. You come prepared and get the job done.
