In 2022 and 2023, I took on the role of Administrator for the American Criterium Cup (ACC)—ten criterium racing events around the Nation.
The work involved managing all media and marketing for the series, including website updates, publishing articles, livestreams, and video recaps. It also meant working with event staff, teams, and athletes throughout the season. Regarding the ACC, I was the sole contact for all series-related matters. It takes just a few sentences to describe this work, but the workload during competitions was heavy.
The events required travel, and I'd be on-site for roughly three days for a single race event or longer if it was a multiday competition.
I took all photography used in the series as part of my social media and marketing duties.
During the 2023 season, I worked with a documentarian in developing a video project following several riders throughout the season. My work here was as a writer and producer, and I'm very proud of how this film came out. It tells every bit of the story I wanted it to.
The ACC lost USA Cycling funding for 2024, which ended my role. But the friendships I made over the past two years are invaluable. The reconnection to a racing style I spent so much time participating in was electric. I love crit racing and feel honored to be amongst people I admire and understand, to be able to tell their stories and to provide a stage for their passions.
